As a Senior Vice-President and Managing Director of Private Wealth Counselling at Blackmont Capital Inc., Robert Smith takes a leadership role in the strategic development of innovative and creative resources for the benefit of his clients. As head of The Smith Group*, he ensures those resources reach and serve each individual client in their preferred manner.

Robert began his career in the investment industry in 1983 with Merrill Lynch Canada after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Victoria College at the University of Toronto. Over the last 20 years, he has consistently been identified as a leader in the industry, achieving membership in his firms’ top recognition groups.

Robert has been married for over 17 years and has three children. His spare time is devoted to activities that surround his family, whether up north on Georgian Bay or in Toronto. Always active in the community, Robert currently coaches hockey in the GTHL.
