William (Bill) Mactaggart — Senior Vice President, Investment Advisor

Bill entered the investment industry in 1981 with Midland Doherty and saw the firm through its takeover by CIBC Wood Gundy. In February 2005, Bill and his team left to establish the Guelph branch for the independent investment boutique Blackmont Capital.

Bill Mactaggart has built a name for himself as a pre-eminent expert on the stock markets and wealth management strategy. He has also distinguished himself as one of the top Suffolk sheep breeders in Canada. Since 1968, Bill has exported animals to every continent except Australia and Antarctica. He is also an accomplished woodworker who restores his own heritage architecture and builds cabinetry from trees he has grown and cut himself on his family’s land.
