Michael was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada in 1987, where he attended York University. He has a degree in Economics, and has his Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation. Michael started his career in 1994 at Midland Walwyn and has established a strong track record of serving the needs of high net worth families and corporations. Following the purchase of Midland Walwyn by Merrill Lynch, he moved to ScotiaMcLeod where he managed clients’ assets for seven years. In 2007 he joined Blackmont Capital as Vice President, Associate Portfolio Manager. Michael has had several articles published on securities valuation and portfolio construction. He is married, has a son and a daughter, and is a devoted outdoorsman with a passion for sailing, fishing and scuba diving.
