Forging a Partnership
We take the time to listen to your needs and understand your wealth structure, risk tolerance, time horizon and unique goals. We keep your best interests in mind and strive to build a long-term relationship with you and your family. Outlined below are the five steps of my partnership process.
Allan's Customized Client Service Process

1. Ascertain: We meet to understand your situation and to establish service expectations.
It is essential for me to learn all about your time lines, wealth structure, risk tolerance, income needs, long term dreams and legacy plans. My total solutions approach encourages you to consider your entire financial horizon so we make the right financial decisions in each given context, and remain organized and focused on the goals ahead.
I believe a clearly defined client-advisor relationship is critical to long-term success. We spend a lot of time educating our clients prior to acting on the plan, ensuring their comfort level and expectations are aligned.
2. Audit: We gather and analyze portfolio information and create your IPS.
Your Investment Policy Statement (IPS) presents our specific solutions to your unique financial situation and needs, both current and future.
Your IPS outlines your risk parameters; your income needs; your tax, estate and insurance* circumstances; and the levels of service and communication you can expect from me. Your IPS is created in close partnership with you, and is adjusted to your evolving, or changing, needs and goals.
3. AlIocate: We put your IPS into action.
I will ascertain the optimal asset allocation and determine the best investment structure, managers and strategies for you, all based on your IPS. Once we come to an agreement on the allocation, I set your plan into action.
Blackmont’s innovative Integrated Managed Account (IMA) platform gives me flexible and unlimited access to the world’s best money managers in a very cost-effective medium. Unlike bank-owned platforms, the IMA has no pre-packaged solutions. The IMA platform provides an open architecture that enables me to construct unique investment solutions, which can include institutional fund managers, and provide comprehensive performance reporting with appropriate benchmarks.
4. Administer: We continuously monitor your investments and seek the best solutions.
Your investments will continually be monitored and, when necessary, rebalanced. We spend a great deal of time seeking and evaluating superior investment solutions, considering history, expectations, tax efficiencies, fees, and transparency.
5. Assess: We measure your plan’s effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
We measure your plan’s effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
We believe in keeping our clients informed on their investments. A performance update will be prepared with a frequency and format that matches your needs, with less structured contact in between. Our fee-based program provides quarterly and customized reporting. In addition to the monthly statement that Blackmont generates, a progress report will be provided that includes a balance sheet, profit and loss, and a cash flow summary. A realized gain and loss statement is produced at the end of each year for tax purposes.
