The Partnership Process
Here is the process we will use to plan a lifetime of good investment choices.
1. Get to know each other
It is essential to learn all about your time lines, wealth structure, risk tolerance, income needs, long-term dreams, and legacy plans. We encourage you to consider your entire financial horizon so we make the right decisions in context and remain organized and focused on the road ahead.
We believe that a clearly defined client/advisor relationship is critical to long-term success. We will spend time educating you prior to acting on the plan, ensuring your comfort level and expectations are aligned.
2. Develop your investment plan
Once we agree on your objectives, we establish how we are going to achieve them. Then we develop an investment plan to help you reach your goals, based on your rate of return expectations and a firm understanding of the amount of volatility that will accompany them.
3. Execute the Plan
We will ascertain the optimal asset allocation and determine the best investment structure, managers and strategies, based on your plan. This process is finalized together prior to setting the plan in action.
If you have solid relationships with other advisors such as legal, accounting, estate planning, or insurance specialists, we are happy to work with them; otherwise, we can recommend or liaise with top people on your behalf.
4. Study and Monitor the Plan
Your investments will continually be monitored and, when necessary, rebalanced to ensure we’re meeting your required goals. We spend a great deal of time seeking and evaluating superior investment alternatives.
5. Report and Communicate
We believe in keeping you informed on your investments. You determine the frequency and format of our contact, whether daily, weekly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual. Our fee-based IMA program provides quarterly and customized reporting.
As a general rule, we send out a personalized newsletter with each quarterly statement, and call to touch base at least three times a year in case you have questions or need to discuss something. Each year, we will invite you to 4-6 educational seminars that will keep you informed on important topics. Any time you have questions or need to discuss something, we would be happy to get together.
